Maggie Andersen, a native of the North State, was born in Red Bluff, educated in Chico, and has resided in the Redding area for twenty years.  Her artistic endeavors have led her to paint, to teach, and to facilitate for the creative development of others.

Like many watercolor artists, Maggie began her career focusing on florals and landscapes.  But soon she diversified, mastering human faces, torsos, hands and feet, and a host of other subject matter.  She is well known for a long series of “shoe paintings.”  Most recently Maggie has explored the realm of the abstract, producing an eclectic variety of images.

Maggie has served for many years as a credentialed art educator for children in the public school system.  She receives joy when the kids’ imaginations are stimulated and they explore the world of art without the fear of judgment.  She has also taken the opportunity to display her students’ art at the local district office, the county office of education, and city hall.

The Art Farm is Maggie’s seven hundred square foot studio and gallery, surrounded by flower gardens, on her estate in Palo Cedro, California.  It is here, at her “base of operations,” that she continues to discover new ideas and techniques by working with her heart, her mind, her hands, and her friends.  Maggie invites you personally to visit and share your skills and aspirations.  “Art is a Process of Discovery, a Revealing of the Soul.”
